Angela M. Holland – Empower Retirement
Angie Holland is the Renewal Sales Director for Empower Retirement’s government market. In her role, Angie manages all aspects of the sales process for renewal opportunities. She is responsible for partnering with the relationship managers and other service team members to create an effective strategy to ensure retention of our large/mega government clients.
Angie joined Empower Retirement in 2007 and has held several key roles and responsibilities throughout her career. In her prior role, Angie managed the Internal Sales desk and was responsible for managing and improving the sales process as well as advancing the sales prospecting database. Her responsbilities also included supporting retention efforts, product development, competitor intelligence, and tradeshow and event planning. Other positions that Angie has held in her tenure at Empower include Office Manager, Key Retirement Plan Counselor, Strategic Development Associate, and most recently, Assistant Vice President of Market and Strategic Development.
Angie holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio University. She currently maintains FINRA Series 6, 26, and 63 securities registrations and holds various state licenses.
Christine Hudek – Innovest Portfolio Solutions
Christine is a senior analyst at Innovest Portfolio Solutions. Her primary responsibility is to provide support to both Business Development and Marketing. Her other responsibilities include creating presentations, writing proposals and managing Innovest’s social media. Christine is also a member of Innovest’s Charitable Donations Committee.
Christine has more than 21 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her experience includes time with with an annuity wholesaling company. Christine was also the office manager and marketing director for a financial planner. Christine holds an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation.
Christine graduated summa cum laude from Colorado State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In addition, she graduated top of her class in pastry from Culinary School of the Rockies.
Nancy Rimington – GW&K Investment Management
Nancy is a member of GW&K’s institutional team responsible for business development and relationship management for the West Coast region. Nancy began her investment career in 1996 as a Consultant Liaison at NWQ Investment Management. That exposure to the consultant community led her to roles focusing on business development and client service in the institutional space. Nancy spent over ten years at Hoover Investment Management Company in San Francisco, becoming a Partner and Director of Institutional Business Development and Client Services. Her responsibilities included building relationships with consultants and plan sponsors nationwide, new product development, and overseeing the firm’s marketing function.
Nancy has experience working with public and corporate pension plans, foundations, endowments, non-profit organizations and governmental entities. Nancy also served as a Vice President of Business Development and Client Service at NetAsset Management.com, a Principal and head of Institutional Business Development at Forward Investment Management Company, and Director, North American Business Development for Numeric Investors. Nancy received a BS in Marketing from Azusa Pacific University.
Brian Simms – Lincoln Financial Group
Brian Simms brings an innovative problem-solving perspective to retirement services by obtaining a deep understanding of the plan sponsor’s goals and priorities and providing technological and human resource solutions to achieve better retirement outcomes for their employees. He is an accomplished professional with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry and a proven sales leader in stable value investments and 457, 403(b), and 401(k) retirement plans. He holds a BS from Arizona State University and a MA from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He lives with his wife and two children in Erie, CO and possesses the FINRA 6, 63, 26 and Colorado state insurance licenses.
Melissa Solomon – Charles Schwab & Co., Inc
Marissa Solomon is the head of DCIO Business Development supporting Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. (CSIM). She is responsible for introducing the firm’s investment products to retirement platforms and consultants in the defined contribution and defined benefit arenas.
Prior to joining Schwab in March 2016, Ms. Solomon was Vice President of Platform Sales at Goldman Sachs Asset Management where she was responsible for supporting and enhancing the firm’s strategic defined contribution and sub-advisory partnerships. She was responsbile for relationship management and business development of defined contribution consultants and institutional recordkeeping platforms. Prior to Goldman Sachs, she spent nearly 12 years at Fidelity Investments in a variety of positions in Research and Product Management.
Ms. Solomon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics from Hamilton College and a Master of Business Administration from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. She holds the Series 7 and 63 licenses.
Terri Velasquez – City of Aurora
Terri Velasquez is the Finance Director for the City of Aurora, Colorado. She is responsible for operations of the City’s FInance Department and the overall management of the City’s finances. Previously, Ms. Velasquez served as the Deputy Finance Director of the City of Aurora from January 2012 through February 2015. From 1987 through 2011 she worked for the City of Colorado Springs, Colorado in a number of capacities including Director of Finance and Administrative Services and Chief Finance Officer.
Ms. Velasquez received a masters degree in Finance and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado and is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Colorado. She holds a Certified Public Finance Officer designation from the Government Finance Officer’s Association (GFOA).
Ms. Velasquez previously served six years on the Retirement and Benefits Committee and three years on the Nominating Committee for GFOA. She also served 8 years on ICMA-RC’s VantageTrust Company Board as Chair, Vice Chair, and Trustee. She is currently a Trustee of the City of Aurora’s Executive and Elected Pension Plans and a non-voting Board Member of the General Employee Retirement Plan. She also serves as Treasurer and Trustee of the Old Hire Police and Fire Pension Boards and Chair of the City’s 457 Deferred Compensation Committee.
Jennifer Yellott – Prudential
Jennifer is a Vice President of Tax-Exempt Sales at Prudential. She is responsible for the development and sales of tax-exempt, and Taft-Hartley defined contribution and defined benefit markets. Jennifer’s depth of experience and perspective on how other major recordkeepers approach retirement plans, and developing plans based on each client’s specific needs is what makes her uniquely qualified to do her job.
Jennifer entered the financial services industry in 2005, joining Prudential in 2016. She has a B.A. in publishing from The Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, she is a Series 6,7, 26 and 63 and holds life, health and variable insurance licenses.
